Pyramid Rock

Pyramid Rock is located just off Phillip Island! Phillip Island, known in the Boonwurrung language as Corriong , Worne , or Millowl , is a fascinating destination about 125 km (78 miles) south-southeast of Melbourne, Victoria. It carries both Indigenous and colonial histories, reflecting its significance to the Boonwurrung people and its later European exploration. The island was named after Governor Arthur Phillip, the first Governor of New South Wales, by George Bass, a notable explorer and seaman. Bass made his journey to the island in a whaleboat from Sydney, arriving on 5 January 1798. This voyage contributed to the early exploration of the southern coastline of Australia. Do you have an interest in the island's natural beauty, history, or perhaps its wildlife, like the famous Penguin Parade?
